Disk Usage / Disk Space
« on: November 28, 2008, 07:06:46 PM »

What is disk space?
The easiest way to explain it is, each file, whether it is an image, page, audio, video, or graphic "weighs" so much!   If you were to place them all on a scale, all their weights (kb, mg, etc.) would come to equal one total.  That total is considered disk space.  The amount of files you have in your hosting directory is the disk space that you are using.

The cPanel Disk Usage Viewer allows you to see where the files are in your site that are taking up disk space. You can use the viewer to view all of the files in your site and find out how much space each file takes up.

To access the Disk Usage Viewer, click on the icon above the words Disk Usage on the main screen of your cPanel interface.
